Gary was a junior high school math teacher in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a high school math teacher in Ripon, California. He then worked for Xerox Corporation and the American Bankers Association while living in Sterling, Virginia, and then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to be Executive Director of CRC Publications.
